Sometimes a synth is nothing more than a keyboard connected to a human beings’ mouth. In this case it’s the instrument known as a “Pianica”, which is a breath-controlled keyboard that’s basically a breath-powered synthesizer. In this particular instance, we see a rather musically talented guy playing the pianica, bass guitar, and connected to a foot-controlled loop-pedal, playing the classic mid-90’s hit “What is Love?”. The major difference here is that the man in question appears to be dressed in a CHICKEN SUIT. That’s right, he’s dressed in a chicken suit, performing a one-man-band rendition of “What is Love?” in front of none other than the heart of Melbourne’s Flinders Street Station in the heart of the Melbourne CBD. We here at Synthtube give him 100% credit for the guts to do something like this, but implore you to watch the entire video, and watch this man’s keyboard dexterity during the “solo” portion of this performance. Truly awesome.

Enjoy….

That is not a pianica! That’s a Hammond 44 meledica. It has metal reeds and an internal pickup. No synthesizer involved at all.

He is more than just a collection of feathers with a bass guitar and a meledica.

He is a Man. A Chicken Man, yes, but a Man nevertheless.
